Summary

Liu Heng, sensing kindness in Zhu Hao Miao, strikes up a conversation, realizing Zhu is a sheltered noble with no common sense. They decide to travel together to the Magic City for safety. Liu offers Zhu food, which he reluctantly accepts despite its poor quality. The next morning, Zhu struggles with hunger and soreness from previous exertion. As they travel, Zhu learns about the desolation of the land, attributed to the aftermath of past conflicts, specifically the chaos caused by the Long-haired Bandits, which left the once-prosperous region in ruins.
