Chapter 41: Little Horn. [41]

Summary

In a room, Su Hun is surprised by an old man named Yuan Qian, who is supposed to care for him but ends up being more of a burden. Despite Su Hun's frustration, he acknowledges that as long as the old man is healthy, it’s sufficient care for him. Su Hun tries to escape the confines of the small courtyard but is repeatedly blocked by Yuan Qian, who warns him against engaging in strenuous activities. The Witch Queen, observing Su Hun's recovery, allows him some freedom but keeps him under watch. Su Hun feels imprisoned despite the beautiful surroundings and longs for clarity regarding the Witch Queen's intentions. He meets a mute woman named Little Trumpet, who brings him some comfort. They discuss his past and his ex-wife, revealing Su Hun's emotional struggles and his desire for independence. Little Trumpet suggests the Queen could help him, but Su Hun prefers to handle his issues alone, reflecting on the complexities of relationships and the people he should avoid.
