Summary

Xu Liao, after hours of meditation without success in condensing demon energy, wakes to a bright day, startling his companions. Yan Si Qi reflects on her feelings for Xu Liao, feeling regretful about their innocent night together. Xu Liao decides to investigate a large gathering of life energy nearby, despite Kane's concerns for his safety. Upon reaching a military camp, he is cautiously welcomed and learns from a middle-aged man about the dire state of the world post-war, the rise of a leader named Hu Bao Yi, and the emergence of a virus turning humans into monsters. The man explains that only a small fraction of the infected evolve, while most become zombie-like creatures. Survivors hope to be transferred to a Safe Zone for peace.
