Summary

Old Ma expresses mixed emotions of joy and worry as he prepares to confront the difficult Blood Oriole, while Lu Chen remains indifferent, knowing Old Ma is suited for such tasks. After Old Ma leaves, Lu Chen sits quietly in the courtyard, observing A Tu, who is eating. Eventually, Lu Chen approaches Old Ma's room, sensing something unusual as silence envelops the area. He is startled by Tian Lan Zhen's calm voice, who reveals he visited the previous night to speak with Old Ma and see Lu Chen. They discuss A Tu's abilities and Lu Chen's life since returning, with Tian Lan Zhen expressing a desire to reconnect. Lu Chen, however, feels a distance has developed between them, prompting Tian Lan Zhen to question Lu Chen's wariness towards him.
