Summary

A group of college students, including the narrator, take Li Shan Shan to a restaurant. During the meal, she suddenly collapses and vomits blood. They rush her to the hospital, where the narrator signs as her boyfriend to enable emergency surgery. After a successful operation, Li Shan Shan's wealthy parents arrive and discourage the students from further contact with her. Despite being offered money as gratitude, the group refuses and leaves, with the narrator feeling disappointed but trying to maintain his dignity.
