Summary

In the Jiade Hall, Zhang Rang and Zhao Zhong inform Ling Di about a treasonous plot by Inspector Wang Fen, who plans to assassinate the emperor and install his brother as emperor. Ling Di is furious upon hearing this. They also discuss a potential informant seeking to buy official positions using a treasure instead of money. Ling Di decides to investigate Wang Fen and considers the informant's offer. Wei Ning and his companions arrive at the Western Garden with treasures to exchange for governorships. Ling Di is astonished by the clarity of a mirror presented to him, leading to a deal for the governorship of Jizhou, with promises of further treasures.
