Summary

Tian Fang, suspected of treason, is imprisoned in the Imperial City Department. Wang Ning An, an intelligent and skilled interrogator, tries to extract a confession from Tian Fang, who claims to have acted for the people's benefit by preventing the emperor from relocating the capital. Wang Ning An reveals that Tian Fang's actions have caused unrest in the court and led to the loss of opportunities to attack Xixia. He also implies that Tian Fang's backer, Zhao Yun Rang, is the true culprit behind the lead poisoning that has caused the death of Bi Xia's heirs. Wang Ning An threatens to expose Zhao Yun Rang's crimes, which would lead to his execution, and offers Tian Fang a chance to save his family by confessing. Tian Fang eventually breaks down and reveals that Zhao Yun Rang was behind the plot. Meanwhile, Wang Ning An prepares to storm the Prince of Runan's residence, determined to eliminate Zhao Yun Rang and his son.
