Summary

As dawn breaks, a boatman retrieves a hidden bundle containing a bow and fire arrows, which he hands to Li Yan Qing, who then sends Yang Liang on a mission. Li Yan Qing arrives in Xucheng County, a stronghold of the Liangshan army, where he faces strict inspections at the city gate. He cleverly navigates the situation by presenting a travel document and downplaying their visit. Once inside, he observes the desolate state of the county, with many shops closed and only taverns thriving. After settling at Shunfeng Inn, they learn about a silk shop for sale and receive a warning about the Liangshan army's inspections. A soldier from the Liangshan army, Luan Ting Yu, arrives to meet Li Yan Qing and shares intelligence on the Liangshan army, which Li Yan Qing appreciates. Luan Ting Yu plans to leave for Hangzhou and gives Li Yan Qing a technique for improving his sister's whip skills before departing.
