Chapter 362: "Hero Crosses the River, Barbarian Soldiers Cut the Soul". [364]

Summary

The Youqiong Clan's guard inspected a swift, deep river and determined it was unsafe to cross. After searching upstream, they found a crossing point guarded by an elderly man, but communication was difficult. The guard decided to construct a floating bridge using rafts. While building, barbarian soldiers attacked, but the Youqiong guard countered effectively, leading to a retreat of the barbarians and a successful capture of their supplies. After crossing the river and resting, the Youqiong guard sent scouts ahead while the Goyu Tribe chief, disappointed by his failed ambush, prepared to meet with allied tribes. The Goyu chief, along with other tribal leaders, was welcomed by the Ying He chief, who housed them outside the city due to space limitations. The chiefs expressed their allegiance to Yi Di, who was recuperating and could not meet them directly. The Ying He chief hosted a banquet and later arranged for the chiefs to see Yi Di through a curtain, where they recognized the false Yi Di. Despite their suspicions, they pledged loyalty to the alliance leader.
