Summary

Han Zhu and Ye Gelu reflect on their mother-in-law's loneliness after losing her family. They discuss the possibility of sending her to a nursing home, but Ye Gelu believes she would prefer to stay in her familiar home. Han Zhu feels a pang of sadness and inquires about Ye Gelu's new girlfriend, Pei Yanzhi, causing her distress. They reminisce about their past relationship, and Han Zhu wonders if Ye Gelu would love her again if given a chance. The next day, heavy snowfall traps them in the village, and while waiting for the roads to clear, Ye Gelu bonds with local children.
