Summary

After a series of battles, Ye Cheng, Lin Yu, and Tang Qiu Yan face increasing danger from the Japanese in Shanghai. To evade capture, they retreat to the countryside but encounter puppet soldiers at checkpoints. Using silver dollars, they manage to escape but later face gunfire. They hide in a forest, counterattacking successfully. Eventually, they reach a village where they plan to return to Shanghai. They join forces with Guo Min Dang troops against the Japanese, proving their bravery by destroying an artillery position. After overcoming bandits, they return to a heavily guarded Shanghai. Ye Cheng discovers a Japanese plot against a Communist contact point and successfully warns his comrades, highlighting the ongoing dangers they face.
