Chapter 27: The Ominous Object. [27]
Summary
Shangguan Qing, a wealthy man, revered a Buddha’s relic, believing it brought him prosperity. However, Ning Chang Sheng warned him it was a cursed object, tainted by centuries of human greed and desire. Ning explained that the relic’s negative energy would bring calamity to Shangguan’s family, particularly targeting male descendants. Despite Shangguan’s disbelief, Ning’s prediction came true when Shangguan’s pregnant daughter-in-law lost her unborn son. Panicked, Shangguan begged Ning for help. Ning agreed on two conditions: finding rare medicinal herbs and building a school to accumulate good karma. Ning then destroyed the relic, revealing its dark, malevolent nature, and neutralized its evil influence with the help of sentient locust trees in the estate.Full content
