Summary

In the tale of Deng Ying Temple, Liu Chengfeng learns about the disturbing history of Dharma Master Huipu, who, despite a lifetime of devotion, never attained enlightenment. In a desperate act, he ordered his flesh to be cut and fed to the monks, believing it would lead to enlightenment. Fa Hua, the young monk, reveals that this gruesome act was carried out, resulting in a celebration of enlightenment, though the true nature of Huipu's attainment remains questionable. As the atmosphere in the temple grows tense, the group realizes they must escape, especially after the unsettling disappearance of Fa Hua, leaving them anxious and on edge.
