Summary

Liu Chengfeng and Ning Qiushui are horrified to witness blood seeping from a Buddha statue in a temple, accompanied by eerie moans. They realize the statues may be monks who have "attained enlightenment," and a restriction on them is breaking. Concerned about being offerings for the Buddhas, they devise a plan to lure a crucial figure, Mei Wen, by using a bell tower for a better vantage point. Ning Qiushui senses a watcher and communicates with Liu Chengfeng to sneak up on the observer. The chapter ends with anticipation for their next move.
