Summary

In the dining hall, a group led by a young monk is greeted by the enticing aroma of meat porridge, causing mixed reactions among the guests. Chai Shan enthusiastically tries the porridge, while others opt for vegetable porridge, wary of the meat's supernatural implications. Tension arises as some mock Chai Shan's bravado. After their meal, a young monk hints at the Abbot's absence and shares the temple's dwindling monk population. As night falls, the group feels uneasy about returning to their dark lodgings, with ominous hints of danger looming as Liu Chengfeng predicts a violent night ahead.
