Summary

Cheng Dalei anxiously awaits the return of Lin Shaoyu, who has been captured by officials but is expected to be released soon. After sending Lin Chong and Qin Man to fetch him, he learns that Lin Shaoyu has left with Lin Chong to find a quiet place to rest. Despite feeling disappointed, Cheng Dalei prepares to leave for the northwest, bidding farewell to his friends, who express reluctance to see him go. As he journeys, he encounters Li Da Yan from Gourd Mountain, who informs him that their leader, Fan Tong, has been waiting for him. Cheng Dalei and his companions are welcomed with a banquet, and Fan Tong insists that they stay for a few days before continuing their journey. After enjoying the hospitality and receiving new provisions and attire, Cheng Dalei sets off toward Qinchuan, while a few others from Gourd Mountain contemplate their own struggles.
