Chapter 242: "Iron Cavalry Raid: The Shadow of the Jade Mountain Bandit". [244]

Summary

At the final meeting, General Tie Tou was assigned to lead a total of 5,000 troops to defend against the Jiuli clan's local nobility, despite the imperial army being outnumbered. The imperial troops had superior combat effectiveness due to their training and leadership. The lord of the Huai Shan clan devised a plan to create the illusion of a larger force by using lookalikes of Bai Wa and himself, along with fake banners, to mislead the enemy. After preparations, the army moved swiftly into Shang clan territory, covering 150 miles before resting. Chang Feng was sent to ensure supplies were ready for the troops as they marched through friendly territories. However, upon entering the Floating Jade Mountain, they encountered the notorious Jade Mountain Bandits, led by the formidable Da Li Gui Wang. The lord of the Huai Shan clan felt helpless against the bandits, knowing that avoiding them would bring shame to his clan, especially after losing soldiers to their capture.
