Chapter 24: Perilous Cliffs. [24]
Summary
Hong Chuan finds himself in a perilous situation, hanging from a cliff as Lu Chen attempts to pull him up. Despite Hong Chuan's panic, Lu Chen remains focused but struggles to maintain his grip. Just as Hong Chuan reaches for safety, a gust of wind causes him to lose his hold, and both men begin to fall. They desperately claw at the cliffside, but their descent is rapid. Lu Chen directs Hong Chuan to a nearby cave, which becomes their only hope for survival. Hong Chuan manages to throw himself and Lu Chen into the cave just in time, narrowly avoiding disaster. Once inside, they catch their breath and share a moment of gratitude, with Hong Chuan apologizing for the trouble he caused. Lu Chen, in a lighter mood, points out two Golden Silk Nanmu trees at the cave entrance, which are valuable in their world. Although the trees are young and not substantial, they recognize their worth and discuss their potential. Hong Chuan ultimately decides to let Lu Chen take care of the trees.Full content
