Summary

Zhang Xuan gives Qin Yong a rare and exceptional horse called White Crane. Qin Yong is overjoyed and leads the horse to the county office, where Zhang Xuan presents 150,000 coins to Zhang Xu Tuo. Zhang Xu Tuo is pleased and asks Zhang Xuan about Xiao Huai's trip to Beihai County. Zhang Xuan reveals that he sent Xiao Huai back fully loaded, which explains why Xiao Huai has been polite to Zhang Xu Tuo. Zhang Xu Tuo shares that he received an imperial decree to return to the capital to report on his duties, but there is no news about Zhang Xuan's rewards. Zhang Xuan decides to attend the Hero Assembly with Zhang Xu Tuo and brings a batch of gold, silver, and jewels as gifts. The group, including Zhang Xuan, Wei Chi Gong, Pei Xingyan, Qin Qiong, Luo Shi Xin, Qin Yong, and You Jun Da, sets off to the capital, disguising themselves as a merchant caravan. They stop at Fengqiu County, where they plan to have a drink at the Hundred Flavors Tavern.
