Summary

The Lu Shan Dynasty is the most powerful nation on the Eastern Continent, with its capital, Tian Yu City, being the most prosperous city in the region. The city is well-defended, featuring towering walls made of massive blue stones and a strategic location near mountains and rivers. As the Immortal Ascension Ceremony approaches, city gate checks become stricter, with soldiers and Taoists using a golden Eight Trigrams mirror to screen entrants. Shi Mu, part of a group approaching the gate, is struck by the city's grandeur compared to his hometown. After witnessing a commotion involving a suspected heretic being detained, Shi Mu's group is allowed to pass through the gate without inspection thanks to a dignified middle-aged man who holds a golden token. Once inside, Shi Mu explores the bustling streets filled with vendors, luxurious carriages, and tall buildings, reflecting on the stark contrast to the barren lands he has traveled through. Cai Er, the parrot, expresses excitement about various attractions, and despite Shi Mu's reluctance to indulge her, they eventually settle into an inn for the night. Shi Mu learns that inns have been established for the Ascension Ceremony attendees and plans to search for Ximen Xue while awaiting an auction featuring valuable items, including high-grade demon ape essence blood.
