Summary

In a small village by the Giant Ocean River, the Zhao family, recently relocated, faced a brutal attack by bandits, resulting in the massacre of their community. A grandfather and grandson managed to escape, with the old man urging the boy to warn Yi Dou County of the impending danger. The boy, Zhao Feng, ran over a hundred miles to reach the county, bloodied and exhausted, crying out about the bandit threat. Wei Yun Qi, the local military leader, received the boy's urgent report and realized the gravity of the situation, as the bandits were likely resting before their attack. Despite having only five hundred soldiers, Wei Yun Qi devised a plan to disguise local men as soldiers to deter the bandits. He prepared to lead a contingent out to engage the enemy while coordinating defenses within the city.
