Chapter 22: Duanmu Huanghun's Roar. [23]

Summary

Duanmu Huanghun woke up to find a man pressing his hands against his chest, and his brain was a complete blank. Ai Hui noticed Duanmu Huanghun had opened his eyes but his pupils were unfocused. Ai Hui slapped Duanmu Huanghun's cheeks to wake him up, and after a few slaps, his pupils regained focus. Duanmu Huanghun was shocked to see Ai Hui, whom he thought was dead. He sat up abruptly, ready to attack, but his movements froze when he saw the red palm prints on his legs and arms. He realized Ai Hui must have used an unorthodox method to cure his cold. Duanmu Huanghun was shocked and humiliated, feeling that Ai Hui had taken advantage of him while he was unconscious. He stumbled out of the training hall, his movements unsteady. Ai Hui and Lou Lan watched him leave, thinking he was fine. Duanmu Huanghun walked down the street, feeling despair and not daring to recall the previous scene. However, he soon realized his cold had been cured and was shocked. He thought about the red palm prints and roughly understood how his cold had been cured. Duanmu Huanghun regained his composure and thought that maybe Ai Hui wasn't as useless as he thought. He might be skilled in healing, like Jin Xiu. However, when he thought about being knocked unconscious by Ai Hui, his face turned black with rage. He felt humiliated, especially when he thought about his master's expectations of him. Duanmu Huanghun mentally scolded himself, feeling he had failed as a genius. As he walked down the street, people pointed and stared at him, including girls who giggled. Duanmu Huanghun was confused and looked at his face using a shiny knife as a mirror. He was shocked to see his face was swollen like a pig's head. He remembered Ai Hui slapping his cheeks repeatedly and felt a surge of anger. Duanmu Huanghun's lips quivered, and he let out a furious roar, vowing to tear Ai Hui to shreds.
