Chapter 218: "Breaking the Formation and Chasing the Wind: Confrontation at Huai Mountain". [220]

Summary

The chapter describes the strategic assault by the Huaishan tribe led by their great leader. The troops are organized into three routes, with heavy infantry and cavalry launching a frontal attack against the border villagers. Despite being outnumbered, the Huaishan soldiers overpower the villagers, who resort to throwing stones in a desperate attempt to defend themselves. The battle quickly turns in favor of the heavily armored troops, leading to the villagers' retreat. The Huaishan army continues its march toward Wu territory, resting briefly before encountering another group of villagers, who also flee. As the Huaishan soldiers approach Wu territory, they are pursued by five thousand light cavalry from the Sanmiao coalition, led by General Yi Tiao Long. The great leader of the Huaishan tribe remains confident in his troops' ability to evade a significant threat from the coalition. However, as they enter Wu territory, they are charged by the Sanmiao cavalry, prompting Bai Wa to take command of the rear guard and prepare for a confrontation.
