Chapter 217: "Gong Gong's Counterattack: Winds and Clouds of Luzhai". [219]

Summary

The Gonggong Tribe, known for its warrior spirit, mobilizes all its members, young and old, to confront the invading Huai Mountain Clan. With most strong men at the front lines, the tribe relies on women and children for support and reconnaissance. The Huai Mountain Clan's advance is halted by a barricade set up by the Gonggong, forcing them to consider retreat. The lord of the Huai Mountain Clan, initially contemplating a detour, learns that local civilians are obstructing their path. He orders an attack to clear the blockade, but the centurion's advance reveals the defenders to be common folk rather than trained soldiers. As the Huai Mountain Clan soldiers press forward, the Gonggong defenders sound alarms and increase their attacks, prompting a retreat from the centurion. The Great Clan Chief of Gonggong orders a counter-encirclement, while the elder of the Huai Mountain Clan reassures the lord that the enemy is not a formidable force. The lord then commands a coordinated assault to break through the blockade and continue their advance.
