A Top Scholar From A Humble Background.

Chapter 20: Outdoor Classroom. [19]

Summary

Shen Xi, a 6-year-old boy from a poor family, finally got the opportunity to study writing under a down-and-out scholar in a dilapidated earth temple. Despite his young age and the limited resources, his mother Zhou Shi was overjoyed and supported him wholeheartedly. On his first day of school, Shen Xi encountered bullying from older students who took away his school supplies. However, he remained calm and decided to treat it as a "protection fee." Shen Xi displayed exceptional skill in writing the characters taught, impressing the teacher. After class, he secretly worked on counterfeiting a landscape painting by Wang Meng, carving seals and aging the artwork to make it appear authentic, likely intending to sell it for profit.
