Summary

In the county of Yidu, General Zhang Xuan leads his cavalry through a snow-covered landscape, encountering a humble cottage inhabited by an elderly couple, who initially mistake them for bandits. After reassuring them, Zhang learns that the couple has returned to their ancestral land and hopes for a future free of banditry. Zhang Xuan then continues to Licheng County, where he meets Qin Qiong, who expresses concern over Zhang Xuan's ambitions. Despite this, Zhang Xuan remains cautious and aware of the political dynamics at play. He decides to visit the local martial arts school, Qi Wuhang, where Zhang Xuduo is teaching, intrigued by the training of future soldiers.
