Summary

Ning Qiushui witnesses a horrifying scene outside his inn as a man desperately calls for help while scratching his neck. Despite his cries, no one dares to assist, knowing the dangers of the Blood Gate. The man ultimately tears off his own head, continuing to plead for help. The next morning, Ning discovers the headless corpse of the man, confirming his identity through a frightened girl. She reveals he sought to visit a temple, believing it held the key to their escape. Bai Xiaoxiao dismisses the corpse's significance, stating that bodies vanish in the Blood Gate, while Ning discreetly takes an item from the corpse before heading to breakfast.
