Summary

Li Da Qi returns home with Yang Jing and a magpie, finding his son Li Yan Qing preparing to take a leave from Taixue. Li Da Qi excitedly shares that the Zhang family praised their distiller and provided them with valuable rouge formulas after Li Yan Qing's connection with Jia Wang is hinted at. Li Da Qi plans to establish a workshop for cosmetics but is advised by Li Yan Qing to wait for a potential auction of the Wang family's rouge shop, which could be acquired for a fraction of its value due to their impending financial collapse. The magpie impresses them with her ability to learn and create rouge, receiving praise for her skills. As they discuss their plans, Yan Dai, Jia Wang’s guard, arrives with scrolls from Jia Wang, officially naming their shop "Baoyan Zhai" and bestowing a poetic phrase upon them, which Li Yan Qing plans to use to negotiate for original flowers for their products. The next day, Li Yan Qing and Qing Er set off on a journey with guards to meet Jia Wang. Meanwhile, in a prison camp, Hu Cheng, grieving for his family, escapes and violently confronts jailers, discovering that his mother and daughter are alive and were rescued by a young man named Li. After a brutal confrontation, he learns to seek them out in Dapan Village and decides to leave the area, aware of the danger that pursuing them might bring.
