Summary

Li Da Qi is thrilled by the visit of Prince Zhao Kai to his rouge shop, Bao Yan Zhai, as it signifies royal backing and protection against competitors. During the visit, Zhao Kai expresses interest in purchasing perfume, and Li Yan Qing offers to gift him the bottles, but Zhao Kai insists on paying for them. Li Yan Qing jokingly asks Zhao Kai to write a sign for the shop, which leads Zhao Kai to offer to have his father, the emperor, write it, leaving Li Da Qi astonished. After the prince departs, Li Da Qi learns about his son's connections at the Taixue. They discuss an exchange of rouge formulas with Zhang Gu’s old shop, which Li Yan Qing agrees to pursue. Li Yan Qing also ensures fair wages for their staff, including Hu Da's daughter, Qing Er. Upon returning home, Li Yan Qing finds Qing Er diligently studying and decides to take her with him to Jiangnan disguised as his Study Attendant, while leaving the magpie behind for safety.
