Chapter 17: "Conspiracy and Honor: The Path to Enlightenment". [19]
Summary
Qi shows great respect for Yi and the Hong Shan Clan, gifting them a treasured cauldron, which earns him goodwill. He leads a funeral procession for elder Xu You, gaining admiration and forming bonds with noble clans. After three years, Dayu resumes rule, rewards Yi, and establishes him as heir, leading to bountiful harvests. Despite Qi's rising prestige and petitions for him to inherit the throne, Dayu decides to cultivate Qi's power and isolate Yi. Dayu targets Yi's loyal supporters for elimination, particularly the Sanmiao Clan, who pose a significant threat. Dayu plots with Qi to approach Little Qing from the Sanmiao Clan, using marital ties to build trust before striking. Qi gradually gets closer to Little Qing, while the Zhen Clan aids in fostering goodwill. A conflict involving the Guandou Clan leads Dayu to set the Sanmiao Clan against them, marking the beginning of his scheme to eliminate the Sanmiao.Full content
