Judgment of Dayu.

Chapter 16: "Inheritance of the Throne: Dayu's Conspiracy and Grievances". [18]

Summary

After Emperor Shun's death, Dayu mourned for three years, earning respect from officials and tribal leaders while planning for his son Qi's succession. During this time, Qi married Little Yu, strengthening ties with the Zhen Clan, who later faced scrutiny for corruption revealed by the Sanmiao Clan. Yi, managing state affairs, investigated the Zhen Clan's misconduct, leading to their punishment and removal from treasury responsibilities. Dayu, angered by the Sanmiao's lack of communication, instructed Qi to appease the Zhen Clan. Yi appointed Hou from the Hong Shan Clan as treasury supervisor, enforcing strict regulations that frustrated Qi. Despite his dissatisfaction, Qi heeded Dayu's advice to focus on long-term goals. Throughout the mourning period, the government remained stable and prosperous under Yi's leadership.
