Chapter 157: The Fantastic Chase of the Knight and the Angel. [156]
Summary
In this chapter, Dirk and Exusiai are caught in a tense confrontation with Orson, who initially appears hostile but quickly reassures them that he means no harm. Exusiai recognizes that Orson is merely on the defensive, leading Dirk to reluctantly lower her weapons. However, their situation escalates when a group of men in suits and sunglasses appears, causing Exusiai to panic. Orson, despite his intention to avoid conflict, finds himself reluctantly drawn into the fray as he defends against the attackers. Exusiai prepares to assist, but Texas disrupts the fight by effortlessly defeating several of the assailants herself. After the commotion, Orson expresses his gratitude for their intervention, but Texas remains suspicious of his identity when she discovers he has an ID card that labels him as a “Cat and Rabbit Breeder.” This absurd title raises eyebrows, and both Exusiai and Texas question his true profession. Orson, having just arrived in Longmen, begins to worry about the gang that had chased him, suspecting he might have inadvertently offended them. They discuss the group that attacked them, revealing that it is a mafia emerging from Longmen. Despite Orson’s initial confusion about local customs and terminology, he learns more about the mafia’s influence in the area. Once they reach the Lungmen Guard Department, Orson thanks Exusiai and Texas for their help. After they depart, he finally spots Talula's sister, Ch'en Hui-jie, recognizing her from her striking appearance and the connection she shares with Talula. The chapter culminates with Orson pondering how to contact Ch'en, only to be interrupted by a girl at the Guard Department who questions him about his situation, revealing his recent trouble with law pertaining to weapon possession and identity forgery.Full content
