Summary

In the depths of Tianmen Mountain's Guigu Cave, old monk Yang realizes that three jars of plague-infested fleas, preserved by Ye Fu, are revenge tools against the Manchu Eight Banners. As the fleas surge forth, they attack the unprotected, while Yang and his companion, Qian, escape. They recall a historical plague outbreak in 1940, which spared them due to their immunity. After a harrowing escape from giant rats, they emerge from the water of Moon Lake and decide to pursue Yang's daughter, believed to be heading east. They travel to Wuyuan, reflecting on lost disciples and time, and Yang makes a call from a post office, seeking to reconnect with his past.
