Summary

After a challenging journey, Han envoy Wang Chao and his party reached Bactra, the capital of the Great Xia Kingdom, also known as Blue City. This Hellenistic city, home to around 70,000 to 80,000 people, features a complex of temples dedicated to various gods. Qiao Ke Da Mo, a Buddhist monk, felt invigorated upon meeting fellow monks. The Bactrian King, Ou Ke La Ti De Si Er Shi, excitedly recognized the significance of the Silk Country, seeking to ally with the Han envoy to strengthen his declining kingdom. The Bactrian Kingdom, once powerful, had become a vassal of the Moon Clan after a violent power struggle. The arrival of Wang Chao's group offered hope for Bactria to regain its strength and independence.
