Summary

Xu Liao decided to abandon a doomed black beetle but wanted to give it a chance to struggle. He used the Heavenly Demon Killing Immortals technique, causing the beetle to shatter into black light and demonic energy. A fierce beast then swallowed the beetle, but Xu Liao sensed a connection with it. He activated the Star-Swallowing technique, allowing the beetle to retaliate from within the beast, which caused chaos. Despite this, Xu Liao realized it would take months for the beetle to inflict damage, so he severed their connection and focused on the remaining five black beetles. The black beetles explored the Demon Abyss, avoiding beasts and expanding their map. Xu Liao felt regret over the lack of interesting items in the Abyss. After several days, he released his connection to the beetles and concentrated on his swordsmanship, having mastered ten techniques. He was eligible for tasks at the Twelve Sword Pass but was uncertain about leaving. A newcomer, Wu Fan, requested Xu Liao's spot when replacements came. Xu Liao, eager to leave, refused, leading to Wu Fan's anger and a confrontation. Xu Liao remained confident in his swordsmanship, dismissing Wu Fan's threats.
