Summary

Mei Lun meets Young Lady Vera in a tea room and inquires about a black beetle, which he believes is linked to her grandfather, Grand Soul Master Nuo Mi. Vera's reaction to the beetle reveals her deep emotional connection and past trauma; her parents had turned into puppets due to a special item her grandfather possessed. She explains that they chose to bury him in Veil City to prevent his corpse from becoming a puppet. Vera requests Mei Lun's help to escape the manor, where she is slowly losing her humanity.
