Summary

In a nighttime riverside scene in Wuhan, the narrator encounters a monstrous creature called "Ba" with an abnormal human-like form. Having one hand and one foot in unusual body positions, the creature is coal-black and surrounded by a dark mist. Despite initial attempts to fight using a curved dagger and sect token, the narrator discovers the creature is incredibly resilient, with skin tougher than stone and an ability to resist attacks. During the confrontation, the creature grabs the narrator's blade, pulls them close, and mysteriously adheres to their back, causing intense pain and rendering the narrator's weapons ineffective.
