Summary

Old Xu believes the Spirit Pearl will double his cultivation speed and proposes a deal to another cultivator: he can use it to reach the Golden Core peak but must return it afterward. They agree to meet the next day. Yi Fan, observing from a distance, decides to wait. The next day, Old Xu arrives and consumes a pill that allows him to manipulate a toxic black gas. One-Eyed Li, another cultivator, joins him, and they head towards a dilapidated temple rumored to have treasure guarded by a fierce beast. As they approach, Old Xu expresses doubt about the treasure's existence. Inside the temple, they encounter a headless giant Buddha, which unexpectedly raises its arm, surprising Old Xu.
