Chapter 1240: The Mantid's Arm Blocking the Car. [1244]
Summary
At the Huanghe ferry in Lishi County, 200,000 troops gathered to cross the Yellow River towards Yan'an County, where 50,000 troops and military supplies awaited. News of Li Yuanji's ascension as Emperor of Tang and the accompanying edict from Emperor Zhang Xuan of the Da Zhou Empire, condemning Li Yuanji's tyrannical actions, sparked a call to arms against him. Zhang Xuan seized the moment to unify the realm, buoyed by reports of victories against the demoralized Tang troops. As he reflected on his past, he discarded a pistol symbolizing his former life, embracing his current mission. The Zhou forces swiftly crossed the river and divided into three paths for an offensive. Meanwhile, Li Dao Xuan of the Tang Dynasty, seeking to turn the tide, attempted an ambush on Zhang Xuan's forces but was ultimately surrounded and defeated. He was mortally wounded and, despite his bravery, succumbed to his injuries. Zhang Xuan ordered him to be buried with honors, recognizing his courage despite the inevitable downfall of the Tang Dynasty.Full content
