Summary
Li Xuan Ba anxiously paced outside the emperor's quarters, yearning to fight in battle as the Zhou army advanced. Despite his repeated requests, his father, the emperor, had kept him from the battlefield, insisting on patience. After years of waiting, Li Xuan Ba received a letter from his brother instructing him to leave for An Ding County, but he still wished to inform his father first. When summoned, he found his father gravely ill but still managed to gain permission to go to Long You to confront the enemy. After a heartfelt farewell, he left Chang'an with cavalrymen, fearing his father's decision might change. Meanwhile, in the palace, Li Yuan Ji grew anxious over the emperor's appointments, fearing a shift in power dynamics. His advisor, Cui Wen Xiang, urged patience and caution, suggesting they wait for the emperor's condition to worsen before acting.Full content
