Chapter 1192: Guanzhong Crisis (Part 4). [1196]
Summary
The coalition forces of Guanlong were stationed near Chang'an, guarded by troops from the Hou Mo Chen and Zhao families, and the Sima Clan. A Tang army scout infiltrated their camp, delivering a message from Li Shi Min that 60,000 Tang troops would attack that night. Hou Mo Chen An, the commander, was instructed to create an atmosphere of surrender among his men to facilitate the Tang army's assault. Confused by the urgency, he agreed to signal the Tang forces at the third watch. Meanwhile, Li Shi Min was anxious about the situation in Taiyuan, where Zhang Xuan had reinforced his troops. He decided to attack the coalition camp immediately rather than wait for a prolonged siege. As the attack commenced, the coalition forces were caught off guard, leading to chaos and a rapid loss of morale. Qin Qiong, leading the vanguard, engaged Du Gu Huai De in battle, ultimately capturing him. Following this, Du Gu Huai De ordered his troops to surrender, signaling a swift defeat for the coalition.Full content
