Chapter 1190: Guanzhong Crisis (2). [1194]
Summary
The chapter describes the mobilization of a coalition army led by Du Gu Huaide, which gains significant support from the populace as they rally against the treacherous king in Chang'an. The coalition establishes a logistics camp in the abandoned ruins of Han Chang'an, which has seen a population increase due to the oppressive regime of King Chu Li Yuanji. Despite their show of strength outside the city, the coalition refrains from attacking, as their leaders' families are held hostage by the Tang army. Li Xiao Gong, tasked with defending Chang'an, struggles with limited troops and seeks to recruit local aristocracy to bolster his defenses. Meanwhile, Li Shi Min, leading a larger force, plans to turn the rebellion into an opportunity for the Tang Dynasty. He sends a cavalry unit to infiltrate the Han Chang'an ruins, aiming for a strategic surprise attack. The chapter ends with Li Shi Min coordinating a plan to strike from multiple fronts to capture the city with minimal resistance.Full content
