Chapter 114: Landing in Pyongyang. [117]
Summary
An oversight in chapter release led to the confusion of chapters 113 and 114. Zhang Xuan and his troops face a daunting mission to cross mountains and breach Goguryeo defenses to reach the Panshui River estuary. They arrive at a forest near the estuary after a grueling march, with Zhang Xuan opting to scout the riverbank himself. He discovers a long wall with catapults and a camp of laborers, suspecting they are not soldiers but conscripted farmers due to Goguryeo's manpower losses. Zhang Xuan devises a plan to attack the laborers and eliminate the catapults to facilitate a landing for the Sui army. After successfully ambushing a patrol, he leads his soldiers to the laborer camp, issuing a command to attack just before nightfall. Meanwhile, Commander Lai Huer of the Sui navy awaits news of the landing, receiving confirmation from a scout that Zhang Xuan is ready to eliminate obstacles, leading to a signal of smoke indicating readiness for landing.Full content
