Summary

Shu Fei, aiming for the Emperor's favor, plots to kill the real Chen Wanjun but is thwarted by a vaccinated fake Chen Wanjun during a smallpox outbreak. Frustrated by the lack of symptoms, Shu Fei lashes out at her maid. Meanwhile, Chen Wanjun seeks to deliver a secret letter to the Emperor but is interrupted by Li Yu, who reveals the Emperor's deep feelings for her. Despite Li Yu's encouragement, Chen Wanjun decides not to disturb the Emperor and returns to Jingren Palace, where she confides in Ming Xiang about her troubles, receiving reassurance and support from her loyal maid.
