Summary

Gao Tao is consumed by anger and anxiety over his son's grave crime and the fabricated note implicating him. Despite his efforts to seek an audience with Dayu, he is rebuffed, leading him to feel foreboding. Dayu, meanwhile, informs Emperor Shun of the situation, presenting the note and framing Gao Tao as interfering with the investigation into his son's embezzlement. Emperor Shun, while acknowledging the gravity of the situation, chooses not to intervene, leaving Gao Tao feeling betrayed and disappointed. Gao Tao returns home, filled with rage and frustration, denouncing Dayu and the court's actions while his outbursts are reported to the Zhen brothers, who plan to confront him in court.
