Chapter 104: "Sanmiao's Fierce Battle: The Record of Breaking the Imperial Court's Formation". [106]

Summary

The great lord of Sanmiao organized a 200,000-strong army to attack the imperial court, but the imperial army held their ground without engaging in a decisive battle. To provoke the imperial forces, Sanmiao attacked a local clan of the Zhen clan, hoping to lure the imperial army out. Despite the Zhen clan's valiant defense, Sanmiao overwhelmed them, leading to brutal killings and abductions that incited the imperial army's fury. The Taibao of the Zhen clan initially refused to engage but eventually devised a plan to ambush the Sanmiao forces during their return to camp. The imperial army fought fiercely, resulting in a costly battle where they emerged victorious but with significant losses. Following the defeat, the Sanmiao coalition awaited reinforcements and planned a strong assault on the imperial camp, but the imperial army fortified their defenses and successfully repelled the attack using newly crafted javelins. Ultimately, the Sanmiao forces were forced to retreat.
