Summary

Ning Chen, in a perilous situation, halts his fall using an ink sword, ensuring safety for himself and Mingyue. They descend into darkness, eventually illuminated by a spiritual light indicating a powerful presence. Encountering Jiang Wangji, a legendary figure from a thousand years ago, Ning Chen learns of the ancient monster Thaotie and the existence of Heavenly Books. Jiang reveals the slow passage of time within Thaotie, explaining his own confinement to survive. He imparts a Daoist technique to Ning Chen, urging him to live well and find the scroll of nothingness. As they escape, Jiang disrupts Thaotie's senses, allowing their escape amid a dazzling light.
