Summary

Wu Lao Er has become attached to the narrator, who saved money for travel. After arriving in Feng Tian, they are received at a mansion where General Zhang Zuo Lin, having just woken from a military meeting, wants to see them. They discuss the general's dining habits and rumors about him. The general eats breakfast with them and inquires about Zhao Lian Yi's death and Luo Si Wei's disappearance, which the narrator recounts. Wu Lao Er humorously comments on the existence of immortals, and the general offers to play matchmaker for Wu Lao Er, who humorously expresses his preference for older partners. Suddenly, Zhang Zuo Lin is interrupted by news of trouble from Beiping.
