Summary

Shen Jiao was preparing to continue her confrontation when Han Qi Xiu suddenly appeared on her wall, grinning at her. She nervously gripped the fire tongs, thinking he was a rogue. Han Qi Xiu teased her, calling her a "stunted bean sprout" and saying no one would come to help her even if she screamed. Shen Jiao tried to scare him away with the fire tongs but ended up hitting the wall instead. Han Qi Xiu laughed and eventually grabbed her, calling her a "delicate flower." He lied, saying he wasn't interested in her, but was actually tempted to "nibble on her tender little face." After releasing her, Shen Jiao fell to the ground and burst into tears. Han Qi Xiu tried to comfort her, offering to rub her sore spot, but she refused, citing boundaries between men and women. Han Qi Xiu introduced himself, saying he was there to say goodbye as his grandfather had called him back home. He ruffled Shen Jiao's hair, which made her feel less afraid of him. Before leaving, Han Qi Xiu fixed the coal stove, teaching Shen Jiao about proper ventilation. He told her she would have to learn to take care of herself, as no one would do it for her from now on. As he left, Han Qi Xiu gave Shen Jiao a dagger, telling her to use it if anyone bullied her. He climbed over the wall, flashing her a grin, and disappeared. Shen Jiao was left confused, wondering who Han Qi Xiu was and why he said such strange things.
