Summary

In the vibrant city of Chang Hua Man Sheng, a charming maiden named Xihou captivates a young man who is unable to afford her. Despite his struggles, he resolves to win her heart through poetry and promises of a shared life. However, after facing misfortune and imprisonment, he learns that Xihou has been courted by a wealthy merchant. Despite her mother's pressure, Xihou refuses to abandon her true love. Eventually, the merchant deceives her with a fake letter, leading her to agree to marry him. After regaining his freedom, the young man finds Xihou married and devises a plan to rescue her and her child from the merchant, highlighting themes of loyalty and sacrifice.
